Guro Bryan Stoops

Symposium Director Bryan Stoops is an instructor under Guro Dan Inosanto, GT Leo Gaje, PG Marc Denny, and Master Virgil Cavada.

Guro Sonny Mayo

Sonny Mayo, was born and raised in the Philippines & has close to 40 years of Weapons training specializing in Edged Weapons. He is been very fortunate to study from the top Weapons Masters from the Philippines & here in the United States. Sensei Sonny will be hosting the event in his beautiful academy!

Guro Steve “Defender Dog” Sachs

Symposium Fight Advisor Steve “Defender Dog” Sachs is a full Dog Brother and holds the prestigious Black Dog Tag rank in Dog Brothers Martial Arts under Punong Guro Marc “Crafty Dog” Denny & also serves as Group Leader for the New York City Dog Brothers Training Group.

Guro Carlos Jimenez

Guro Carlos Jiminez teaches Kajukenbo Self Defense, Balintawak and Improvised Weapons Training  in New York City. He is a Fully Qualified Instructor (FQI)/Level 7 under Grand Master Bobby Taboada.

Guro Nick Merchant

Symposium Public Relations Advisor Nick Merchant is a certified instructor of Serrada Escrima under Guro Jeffrey “Stickman” Finder. Guro Nick is the co-head Instructor and founder of Cabales Serrada Escrima New York.  He holds level 1 stick and knife certification in Alpha Doce Pares under Guro Sonny Mayo. He is a certified Krav Maga coach under Alpha Krav Maga founder Sam Sade and is currently a staff instructor at Steve Sohn’s Krav Maga Training Center in Scarsdale, New York.

Coach Dylan Hintz

Coach Dylan Hintz is a SAG-AFTRA Stunt Performer for Film and Television with over 30 professional, industry credits. As a lifelong martial artist, Dylan has trained in Filipino Martial Arts, Jeet Kune Do, Savate, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and many more systems.  Merging his love for martial arts with storytelling, Dylan began synthesizing his experience in various traditional and modern fighting methods with stage combat and fight choreography principles to design SAGA Action Arts. Dylan is currently training over a dozen actors, stunt performers, and fellow martial artists, and he will be presenting the SAGA Action Arts approach to weapons at the Symposium.
